We have been blessed with fine weather for the first six days of Open Week and hopefully the sun will continue to shine for the last few days. Open Week opened on Saturday the 3rd July in beautiful sunny weather which was reflected in the scoring with Tony Lawton shooting 44 points to win by two points. Karl Murray continued his fine run of form with winning the gross with 40 points and a gross score of 68. In the Ladies Competition Captain Anne with 41 points was pipped by Rosemarie Devereux of Delgany with 42 points. The Rumble on Sunday in very windy conditions was won by the Rumble specialists of Donogh Mc Donagh, Mary Dargan and Eddie and Linda Ryan with 88 points with President John and Mary Cahill and their guests beaten into 2nd place on a countback.

The Ladies Fourball on Monday was won by Barbara Cohen and her guest Olive Allen with 42 points and they won from two visitors with a better back 9. 

The Mens and Ladies Seniors on Tuesday had mixed fortunes for our Members with 1st and 2nd place in the Mens competition going to visitors although Captain Sean won the gross prize. 

In the Ladies competition  Nuala Hamilton with 40 points beat Anne Butler into 2nd place on a countback. 

In the Wednesday Fourball we had no less than four pairings with the same score of 42 points. The Competition was won by Kevin O'Neill and his guest and former member, Frank Fahy, from Dave Bernie and his guest Liam Jordan.

The Ladies Singles on Thursday was won with a fine 43 points by Ann O'Driscoll from Elm Park who beat Kate O'Leary with a better back nine. the Gross was won by Anne Benson.

We have had 30 / 40 Clubs represented on each day and hopefully we shall see many new faces over the final few days of competition.

Finally a big word of thanks to all the Committee Members from both the Mens and Ladies Club who work so hard to ensure that the c.1800 people who play in our Open Week have a memorable day out.
