Captain Paul’s Prize

Captain Paul’s Prize will be played for over the next two weekends. It is a 36 Hole Strokes competition played over the Blue Course. The Qualifying Days are on Saturday and Sunday next, 8 and 9 July, with the Final Day on Saturday 15 July. Only Members of at least one year’s standing who have returned a minimum of four fully completed scoring cards (i.e. N/R’s don’t count) in 18 Hole Singles competitions in Charlesland Golf Club in the current calendar year, are eligible to win the Captain’s Prize (i.e. 1st Prize). Anyone in doubt about N/R’s should log onto HowDidIDo and check their results.

Would everyone please ensure their score cards are entered on the computer on the Qualifying Days.

Details and other information follows below:

Format – Qualifying Days ~ The Qualifier Rounds played in threes on the Blue Course at eight (8) minute intervals – please do not commence play before your actual starting time. Qualifying scores will be carried to the Final Day. In accordance with CONGU Rules Handicaps in the Qualifying Rounds will also be carried to the Final Day irrespective of the results in other competitions between the two rounds. However Handicap revisions arising from the Qualifying Rounds will apply for any other competition played in before the Final Day.

Closing of Timesheet Entries ~ Entries for both Qualifying Days will close at 16.30 on Friday 7 July. No changes to the day or time can be made or further entries added except through the Men’s Competitions Secretary, Marcus Hunt – 087 244 7627, mghunt13@gmail.com

Practice on Saturday 8 July ~ No one booked to play on Sunday 9 July may practice on the course at any time on Saturday, 8 July – Breach of this rule will result in automatic disqualification.

 Potential Qualifiers unavailable for Final Day ~ Anyone who will definitely be unavailable to play on the Final Day should please advise the Entry Taker in the Shop and also so indicate clearly on their Scorecard. This will enable others to qualify and a full timesheet prepared.

 Format – Final Day  ~.On Saturday 15 July, the Final Day, Qualifiers will go out in threes in reverse order., The leading 60  will have a two tee start, at 10 minute intervals, from 13.00 with the leading Qualifiers going out last at approximately 14.30. Qualifiers from 61 onwards will go out in the morning and depending on numbers they may also have a two tee start. The Time Sheet for the Final Day will be posted on the Men’s Noticeboard, on BRS and on the website on Tuesday 11 July. No changes can be made on BRS – cry-offs must be notified as soon as possible to Marcus Hunt 087 244 7627, mghunt13@gmail.com.

Entry Fee ~ Golf and Dinner €45.00; Dinner only €30 (payable in the Shop at the weekend – Cash, Cheque or Credit Card only)

 

Captain’s Dinner – Saturday 15 July @ 8p.m.

Distribution of Prizes ~ Prizes will be awarded in the order of priority set out below. No player can win more than one prize, except Nearest the Pin.
